I have recently had the pleasure of spending time with, and communicating with a Jewish family who have accepted and follow Christ. They celebrate his life and teachings, and they have a great appreciation for the "New Covenant" that Jesus' life, death, and resurrection brought to mankind. I could not help remembering when I was young in my christian walk, and I had that same enthusiasm and wonder at all that our savior brought us in his teaching, and in the short life he lived on earth. I have not lost my love for Christ by any means, but I occasionally must remind myself that it was he who provided the blueprint that I should model my life by. Not the Church, not my religion, not the Church"s affiliate associations, it was Christ himself. We know it, we talk about it, we offer it as witness to others, but we make ourselves responsible to other powers or people in our Christian lives. It is by God's grace, and Jesus' sacrifice that I am afforded salvation. It is not because of my Christian ego, or by any,(however unintended or misguided) self-righteous stances I may take against my fellow man as a result of my religious associations and relationships.Mark Seemillernoreply@blogger.com
